ABOUT BERTHCODE
Every Berth, Digitally Connected
Building A Smarter Digital Marina.
A marina berth is more than a physical space on the water. It has a defined location, dimensions, characteristics, services, availability, and operational information. Berthcode transforms this physical infrastructure into a structured digital identity.
By assigning a unique digital code to each berth or mooring, Berthcode creates a consistent way to identify, organise, and connect berth information across the marina. Location, specifications, availability, status, services, and relevant operational data can be associated with each digital identity, creating a clearer and more connected view of the marina.
THE BERTHCODE VISION
One Berth. One Code. One Connected Record.
Berthcode creates the digital foundation for marina berths and moorings, allowing physical spaces to be represented consistently and connected with the systems and services of a modern marina.
BERTHCODE — The Story Behind the Vision.
Berthcode Did Not Begin
In A Technology Lab.
BERTHCODE was born from a simple observation: the traditional way of finding crew work in the yachting industry was inefficient, outdated, and heavily dependent on paper CVs.
While walking the marinas in Port Adriano, Mallorca, I saw young crew members handing out CVs from yacht to yacht—often leaving them under mats, near gangways, or in places where they could easily be lost or damaged.
What stayed with me was the gap between the sophistication of the yachting industry and the outdated way people connected with opportunities.
CVs were getting wet, thrown away, forgotten, or lost. More importantly, valuable time and opportunities were being lost along with them.
This led to one simple question:
“Why doesn’t every berth have a digital mailbox?”
That question became the starting point for BERTHCODE—a vision to create a smarter, more connected, and more efficient way for crew and yachts to connect.
